Day 3 of State Farm City of Palms Classic picked up were it left off on Saturday for several premier performances. Bishop Gorman drops their second in row due to strength issues and guard experience. 2012 Shabazz Muhammad led all scorers with 29 points and 4 rebounds. Muhammad shot 12-13 from the line and has established him self here in the City of Palms as a bona fide high major scorer. 2012 Ronnie Stanley at center had a strong day on the boards with 10 rebounds. Ricardo Gathers from Riverside Academy scored 15 points while snagging 11 rebounds. Gathers is a 6’8 physical specimen down low who played very physical and recorded 4 fouls. Gathers needs to develop more touch from the foul line and a consistent mid range game. Gathers is high energy and very explosive. 2011 North Carolina bound James McAdoo was a tough match up on the offensive end with a much improved mid-range jump shot. McAdoo was very productive shooting 10-19 from the field scoring 23 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. McAdoo as we know is a top of the box athlete, traffic rebounder and finishes above the rim in transition. McAdoo is long, strong and very active on both the offensive and defensive end where he recorded 3 blocks for his Norfolk Christian team. 2011 Shannon Scott from Milton was not in tune with 5 turnovers for the game but dished out 4 assist, 4 steals and 13 points. Scott is not a a big time shooter as he only connected and shot 1 three-pointer. Scott looks his best in transition and gets to the paint as good as any guard in the country. 2011 Evan Nolte is not a physical player that mixes it up in the paint but the exact opposite. Nolte 6’8 wing game is finesse but effective and owns a smooth stroke from three. Julian Royal, Dai-Jon Parker and Jordan Loyd all scored in double figures for Milton and had solid overall games. Milton is well balanced at the guard positions and pressure effectively and should be a favorite to reach the finals. Norfolk Christian 49, Milton 58. Ike Nwamu out of Westchester Country Day scored 24 points connecting on 5-9 from the arch. Nwamu who signed with Cleveland St. is an explosive two guard who showed off his touch today. Teammate Quincy Miller (Baylor Signee) tore his acl Vs. High Point down in North Carolina and will miss the remainder of the season. Baylor bound teammate Duece Bello finished with 10 points and 7 rebounds. 2011 Kevin Bright is a 6’5 shooting guard who scored 22 points for Upsingschule out of Germany. 2011 Memphis bound Adonis Thomas had a solid over all game with 25 points, 11 defensive rebounds, 5 blocks and 5 assists. Thomas is very unselfish and makes the extra pass and plays with a high motor. Auburn bound Cedric McAfee shot the ball well shooting 3-5 from behind the arch for 15 points on 6-12 field goals. 2014 Kevin Zabo was poised and strong for Saint Marks. Zabo is originally from Montreal and posses good quickness, 6’2 athletic frame and touch connecting on 11 points shooting 3-5 from the field. Zabo recorded 6 youthful turnovers but played 25 solid minutes vs a skilled athletic Academy of New Church team. 7 footer Kaleb Tarczewski foot work is improving and showing improved strides in his game. Tarczewski forced the same baseline drop move on most of his touches on the block. Bigger steps in the post for better production. Tarczewski up side is high and we love his length, skill-set and mobility. 2012 Alex Murphy was quite finishing with 4 points. Murphy connected on two athletic dunks one being over 7 footer Malcolm Gilbert. Savon Lloyd-Goodman is an explosive wing who finishes well in transition. Goodman is physical, slashed and attacked the basket with a purpose and is a good defender with length. Rakeem Christmas looks to have gained a few pounds and looks like the prospect that we projected to be last spring. Christmas recorded 17 points, 14 rebounds and looked absolutely explosive around the paint. Christmas hands and foot work looked improved. Syracuse should only have Christmas for two years with continued development. Duke bound Austin Rivers highlighted the game with 24 first half points, finishing the game with a game high 42 points, shooting 16-25, 5-10 from behind the arch totaling 7 rebounds in 32 minutes. Rivers scored from the pick n roll, isolation dribble drives and transition at will. Rivers without a doubt was player of the day…sensational. Dwyer Jacoby Brissett scored 21 points and grabbed 15 rebounds. Winter Park over Dwyer 76-64. Mater Dei in the last game of the day Vs the #1 team in #1 team in North Carolina Christ School ended day 3 of the City of Palms. 2011 Demarcus Harrison was very athletic going to the tin with authority. Harrison finished with 12 points and 6 rebounds shooting 0-4 from the arc. Marshall Plumlee finished 9 points and 7 rebounds. Plumlee was not as aggressive with 6’7 Mater Dei Xavier Johnson defending him. Johnson finished with 11 points and 5 rebounds and was in foul trouble early on and eventually fouled out only playing 15 minutes of action. 2012 Katin Reinhardt led all scorers with 17 points, 3 assist and 4 rebounds. Reinhadt was cold from three shooting 0-5 from the arch but used dribble penetration to set up nice floaters and pull ups for finishes. Reinhardt showed athleticism with strong finishes to the rim and glass. 2014 Shaqquan Aaron added 7 points and 2 assists and played 20 impact minutes for Mater Dei and will be a special as he matures and gains strength. 2014 Stanley Johnson scored 6 points and 4 rebounds and showed solid upside with his versatility and production for his age.
