Premierball caught up with 6-foot-11 F/C Matt Willms originally from Canada who is extremely athletic and has touch beyond the three point stripe. Willms upside is high with the ability to change and block shots from the weak side help.

What made you decide to relocate from Canada and attend high school in Michigan?

I needed my grades up and I felt I would get noticed better here in Michigan.

What separates you from the rest of the 2012 prospects?

I am a tall player at 6’11, I can shoot the ball like a guard and I can dribble. Allot of the times I will play small forward.

What are you high school goals and long term goals?

Win state.

What do you think about when you have the basketball 7 feet from the rim?

Get a hook shot in or a dunk.

How was your experience with your Canadian national team?

It was a really good experience learned allot about the game and a just took it all in.

Who is your favorite player to watch in the NBA?

My favorite player to watch is Chris Bosh plays like me.

Name your top ten schools?

Penn State, Syracuse, Michigan, Michigan State, Marquette, USC, UCLA, Kansas, Ohio State and Pittsburgh.


What areas of your game do you see improving the most within the last two months?

My jumping ability

Do you have any shout-outs or anybody you want to recognize as a big part of your development?

I would like to shout out to coach Coach Lofton he made me this good, and I just put in the work for him. And also my dad for all he has done for me and my mom for helping me with the school part of it.
