By Chistian “PoP” Popoola, PremierBall.com
Collegiate Coaches,
The Las Vegas 2009 season is almost half over. We have seen some elite players dominate, at the same time we have seen the sleeper talent explode on the scene. With this being said its time to forcast the best of the west in the Vegas Valley for our fantastic fresh faces who we call Freshman.
This report is based off of the LIST which is PremierBalls’ trade mark ranking system of all the basketball ball players in Las Vegas from the 8th grade to the 12th grade.
All the kids on theLIST are currently being evaluated and we are in the process of obtaining contact infomation on all the kids on “theLIST”. Here is the
breakdown for our top 2013 freshman class.
D’khari Hicks, Point Guard (5-foot-9, ) 2013, Las Vegas/ Faith Lutheran Strengths: Great feet and flare for the game. A solid growth spurt will land him at the top of this class. Has all the special tangibles to be a special player. Quick feet, quick hands, excellent balance, competitive spirit, good distributor and excellent vision. Plays significant minutes on Faith Lutheran varsity at point. His biggest asset is his great burst of speed when he is pressured. He has great speed off the dribble and is able to separate him self from defenders. Hicks is aPass first player that has a good jump shot and is a solid free throw shooter. Good solid Upside.Weaknesses: Needs to grow and develop Jump shot off the dribble.

Marcus Hines needs to be on this list. He may have not played on mojave’s varsity basketball team, but this kid averaged 16.5 ppg and 10.1 assist’s per game! Cmon this kid is a real hooper. I am not saying that he should be number 1 on the list, but this kid should have a high spot on it !
Never heard of him. And whoever he is, he doesnt avg over 10 assist a game or he’d lead the valley in dimes, at any level. What AAU team does he play for?
He play’s for the Northtown Hoopers,(new team) they just took third in the Jam On it, All under one roof tournament. You probably havent heard of him because of the bad press that Mojave gets, but i think their team website has some videos of him up on their . He is a decent player.
