Khristian Kirkwood, Point Guard (6-foot-1, 170)
2011 class, NV/Valley HS.
Player of the week goes to Khris Kirkwood of Valley High. Kirkwood is the most underated player in the valley. Playing with an injured shoulder throughout the tournament he led his scrappy, talented team to the championship game in the Amare Stoudemire bracket. Kris is a point guard that sets the tempo of the game from the jump. He penetrates at will and knows where to be on the floor to make plays. Has excellent vision and makes his teammates around him better. Kris led Valley High past Douglas, Silverado and a talented Denver East squad out of Colorado. Valley High plays as a team with Khris as the the leader and it showed throughout their play at the Each-1 Teach-1 tournament.
*Kirkwood was named to the Amare Stoudemire All Tournament Selection. Congrats to Khris Kirkwood
