Insiders Breakdown Report: Findlay Prep Vs. Bishop Gorman +Highlights

Bishop Goman Gaels

2012 Ben Carter has stepped up his production level in the past 5 games and is a legit mid high major recruit. Pouring in 17 points and grabbing 7 rebounds Vs a very athletic Findlay Prep team. 2012 Shabazz Muhammad guarded by Arizona commit Nick Johnson left no doubt that he is the #1 scorer in the 2012 class. Johnson who fouled out guarding Muhammad. Muhammad poured in 32 points while snatching 13 rebounds in the overtime loss. Muhammad ball handling and play-making is improving the guard slot and showed his ability to slash of the dribble in the a half-court set for  lay ups all night long. “Muhammad is the most “physical guard/wing player to play highschool ball in years.” 2014 5’10 PG. Noah Robotham played bulk minutes down the stretch and is the future starting point for the Gorman Gaels and hit some clutch threes down the stretch. Robotham has over a dozen schools following him close and shows early signs of maturity and confidence. 2012 C Demitrus Morant scored only 4 points but they were both top of the box tip jam dunks over the top of the Findlay Prep team. Morant also added strong presence in the paint with his shot blocking abilities. Morant is two years away from being a consistent impact player on the next level-High Major. Morant broke the high school record jumping 12’1 standing vertical at the NIKE Sparks training last week at the Hoop Hall. 2012 W Rosco Allen struggled with his shot but still added 10 points. Allen is a legit high major talent with a fantastic ceiling and good skill-set.

Findlay Prep Pilots

Findlay Prep lead by 2011 PG Texas commit Myck Kabongo played his typical All-American game scoring 26 points mostly on dribble penetration and in transistion. Kabongo will be a McDonalds All American player and backed it up in front of a sell out crowd at the Cox Pavilion. Myck Kabongo to put it simple is .. really really fast. 2012 Winston Shepard is a glue player that does it all. Shepard changes the complex of the game with his passing and leadership on the floor. Shepard you have to watch close, he makes the right plays rather its pass or shoot. 2012 Naz Long shot the ball well from deep and should see more playing time on next years roster. Long is a 6’2 pure flicker shooter in the 2012 class and can play both guard positions but is more comfortable at the 2 guard slot on either wing. Long would be a starter on most high school team in America including 2011 Kevin Kaspars who hit the game winning three in double over-time. Kaspars is a tough gritty point who defends, shoots and handles. Kaspars is very underrated mid major plus player that could compete for minutes and challenge starters at most programs next year (PoP Endorsement). 2011 Wing Amir Garrett scored 17 points and showed off his athleticism and touch from the perimiter. Garrett carried the Findlay Pilots at times during the game and will be an impact recruit for St. John next year. 2012 Anthony Bennett played a very effective few minutes with a devastating thunderous dunk on the baseline. Bennett is trying his best to get healthy but has the ingredients to be special if he can stay on the floor. 2011 Arizona commit Nick Johnson was off but showed a positive attitude and was off rhythm and maybe exhausted from guarding the more physical Muhammad all night. Nigel Goss-Williams was solid for the night with 15 points. Final score 89-86 Findlay Prep now moves to 3-0 Vs. Bishop Gorman.
