Findlay (25-2) falls @ Montverde 51-54/ Thompson & Petrovic Injured /Joseph MVP

Findlay lost in the finals of the Montverde Academy Invitational against Montverde 54-51.  The Pilots Cory Joseph held the team together after ankle injuries sidelined senior starters Tristan Thompson and Marko Petrovic in the first half.  With Thompson sidelined and Petrovic hobbled, Joseph scored 21 with 8 rebounds and had 2 chances to tie the game in the closing seconds.  Senior Godwin Okonji had 14 and 6 rebounds.  Junior Nick Johnson scored 10.  Joseph was named tournament MVP.

*Findlay has played 7 ranked teams in various polls on the road including Northland (OH), St. Pats (NJ), Christ School (NC), Winter Park (FL), Bishop Gorman (NV), Arlington Country Day (FL), Montverde (FL)

*Findlay has defeated teams from 11 different states

*Under Coach Peck, Findlay is 90-3 (32-0 home and 58-3 away)

About the Author: Christian T. Popoola graduted from the University of Nevada Las Vegas in 2006 with a bachelors degree in criminal justice. He was a member of the mens basketball team from 1999-2001, winning the Mountain West Conference championship in 2000 and also participating in the 2000 NCAA tournament.
