Day 3 Recaps (Amar’e Stoudemire Bracket)

Game Q  Rancho (NV) vs. Basic (NV)

Basic was held to 12 first half points in Rancho’s 72 to 48 third round win. The Rams had balanced scoring in the win. Tyler Gaston led the Rancho scorers with 12 pts. Vince  Carducci led all scorers with 20 pts.

Game R Lynwood (CA) vs. Francis Parker (CA)

Francis Parker used a 19 to 11 third quarter to expand on a nine point halftime to win the first consolation semifinal. The Lancers were led by Dalante Dunklin and Deon Randall who had 20 and 19 points respectfully. The Knights were led by Raymond Alexander with a game hIgh 22 pts. The Lancers will face Centennial in the consolation championship game.

Game S Carson (CA) vs. Ridgewood (IL)

TJ Zornow’s 23 pt performance helped Ridgewood gain their first win of the tournament. John Caravia added 12 pts for the Rebels. The Carson Colts were led by Brandon Moore with 16pts and Victor Robbins with 12 pts. Carson will play Basic in their final game of the tournament.

Game T Douglas (NV) vs. Centennial (NV)

With a chance to win down two pts Douglas inbounded the ball and on the next pass Ben Vozzola makes a

steal and finishes with the jam to seal the 64 to 60 victory. Vozzola finished with a game high 28 pts for the

Bulldogs. The Tigers were led by Austin Neddenriep with a team high 17 pts while Jorey Scott chipped in with

11 pts. Douglas will face Rancho HS in a game change with Ridgewood because of an impending snow storm

that  is going to visit the Midwest.

Game U Leflore (AL) vs. Dorsey (CA)

Leflore jumped out to a big first quarter lead and never relinquished the lead from there as they go on to the 69 to 55 win. The Rattlers had a truly balanced scoring attack with no one in double figures but had 6 players with 6 to 8 points for the game. The Dorsey Dons were led by Marqueze Coleman and Anthony Dees with 16 and 15 pts respectfully.

Game V Palo Verde (NV) vs. Mesquite (AZ)

Mesquite used a game high 28 pt performance by Isaiah Strong and a 15 pt performance by Jason Garretson to win the first semifinal game 79 to 69. The Wildcats made 7 of 8 free throws in the last period. Palo Verde had four people in double figures led by Andrew Tophan with 15 pts. The Panthers will play for third place against the Angels from Denver East.

Game W Silverado (NV) Vs. Canyon Springs (NV)

Canyon Springs used a 20 to 10 third quarter to break open a one point Pioneer lead at the break to win the third round game. Jared Brandon and Trey Evans both had 17 pts in the win. Silverado was led by Ruben Jackson’s 18 point performance. Canyon Springs will play Leflore in final round action. Silverado will play Durango in their final game of the tournament instead of Dorsey because of a travel situation.

Game X Valley (NV) vs. Denver East (CO)

Valley took advantage of a slow start by Denver East and won the second semifinal game 58 to 41. The Vikings will advance to the Amare Stoudemire Bracket Championship and play the Mesquite Wildcats. Valley was led by Khristian Kurkwood with 19 pts and Christian Kessee with 17 pts. The Angels had both Uriah Carter and Alex Merriex with 9 pts.
