Cheyenne Desert Shields take care of business at home 72-56.

Before the Varsity game started I got a quick peek in the back of the gym and found sum gold. Two players that should be place on the players to watch. Jaquan and *Jamion Coleman. Both are brothers and both play with heart and intensity. Jaquan aka “Cricket” is on our 2012LIST and is a player. Needs to work on a fluid jump shot but has the quickness, savvy  and poise to be a solid top point guard. With continued improvement this year he will move up on the 2012LIST. Older brother Jamion is a scorer who is a varsity caliber player but is hurt by the Cheyenne’s Varsity depth chart. Both played with fire and intensity and displayed solid skills.

Back to Cheyenne Varsity, The Desert Shields looked impressive and threw the ball inside and played a nice inside out game in their half court set. Faith did a mediocre job in stopping the ball in transistion which led to easy baskets by Cheyenne. Here were some of the stats.

Chris McCall- 19 points

Brian Organ- 19 points, 6 rebounds

Jaylen Henry- 18 pts, 7 Rebounds

Jaquawn Roten- 11 assist

Sam Done-10 points, three-3pointers

*D’kari Hicks showed off his speed and quickness again and is a delight to watch.

PoP-NOTES

I was most impressed with Brian Organ. The kid is really active with his interior defense. Finished well around the basket [Content protected for Premier-bronze members only]
