Findlay Prep is Number 1 in the country and Bishop Gorman is set up to be the top team in the state. The game is at 8pm following the UNLV vs Kansas State game at 4pm – The skills challenge will start at 7pm and there is a host of other activities including a dance competition sponsored by 97.5 and Best Buddies of Nevada

Findlay improved to 10-0 on the season with a 78-41 win over Our Savior New American at the Marshall County HoopFest.  Findlay went 2-0 at the event after defeating #11 ranked Christ School 80-64.  Senior Tristan Thompson scored 17 points to go with 12 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 blocks to garner MVP honors.  Junior Nick Johnson scored 17 including 3 of 5 from the arc along with 6 rebounds.  Junior Jabari Brown scored 16 with 5 assists and 4 rebounds.   Senior Godwin Okonji had 9 points and 15 rebounds, 3 steals.  Senior Cory Joseph had 15 points, 11 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 blocks, 3 steals.

For the season Findlay is averaging 100 points per game and allowing 64 per game.  7 Pilots average between 8.8 ppg and 21.9 ppg.  Findlay is riding a 43 game win streak and is 75-1 under Coach Michael Peck. Findlay is preseason #1 by ESPN Rise, Prepnation.com, and Sportingnews.

Findlay is defending their undefeated consensus national championship from last season.  This years Findlay squad features seniors Tristan Thompson, Cory Joseph, Godwin Okonji and Marko Petrovic;  Juniors Nick Johnson and Jabari Brown; Sophomores Winston Shepard and Dekeeba Battee Aston; and freshman Nigel Williams Goss.

Findlay Prep vs. defending state champion Bishop Gorman High School at 8pm on Saturday 12/12. Tickets are $10 with a portion of the proceeds going to “Best Buddies Nevada”.  Tickets are only available at the Orleans or at Findlay Automotive.

Program Highlights

The 2008-09 season Findlay finished 33-0 and unanimously ranked #1 overall by the National Polls after winning the National High School Invitational in Washington DC.

In the 2007-08 season, the Pilots finished 30-0 in the regular season and lost by 2 in the prep school championships to finish 32-1

Coach Michael Peck is 75-1 in his career as Head Coach at Findlay

Avery Bradley was ESPN Rises Player of the year and a MacDonalds All-American

DJ Richardson & Avery Bradley were Parade All Americans

The Pilots have had 19 international players in 4 seasons including players from 15 different countries

18 Findlay players from the first 3 seasons are either currently on division 1 basketball rosters including alums at Kentucky, Cal, Florida State, UNLV, New Mexico, Fresno State, Texas, Illinois, Arizona St, Washington, Cal State Fullerton, Texas Southern, New Hampshire, VCU, St. Bonaventure and Miami (OH).

Every Findlay program graduate has been a NCAA qualifier
